Technical Meeting - "Hot Issues for 2025":
We are excited to have our keynote introduction from Andy Rees of Welsh Government, who has lead the journey to Wales being one of the leaders in waste and resource policy and implementation. We will hear from him about his thoughts on the direction of travel and the developments we might look forward to. Andy will then join a panel of 5 other sector specialists.
The five panellists are
- Kristy Spindler from Local Partnerships to discuss Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS)
- David Gigg from Shotton Mill on their investment in paper and card recycling supported by UK and Welsh investment
- Taryn Clements from Harmony Environmental will look at how waste management companies can evidence their performance to third parties
- Welsh Government representative talking on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Deposit Return Scheme (DRS)
- Vicki Hughes, Junior Vice President at CIWM to talk about key topics as viewed by the CIWM
These discussions are sure to provide an excellent introduction to your day, with the lunch following providing a good opportunity for you to continue discussions with peers and colleagues!
PLEASE NOTE
We have a limited amount of bedrooms secured at a discounted rate with the Hotel should you wish to stay. These will be £140 with bed and breakfast - please contact The Coal Exchange hotel directly quoting CIWM Cymru Christmas Lunch and the date of the event to book.
If you select the FREE Technical Session ticket only, you will not be permitted to join the Lunch - lunch tickets are paid for only.
You will be asked for your dietary requirements at booking.
We are conscious of the environmental footprint of this event, if you are able to travel to it using public transport that would help to reduce our overall footprint. Parking near the event is relatively limited, so Public Transport might be the easier option!
