CIWM Cymru Wales Site Visit to

Viridor Trident Park Energy Recovery Facility, Cardiff

The construction and commissioning phase of Trident Park, Energy Recovery Facility completed in late 2014 and the facility is now fully operational under Viridor’s management.

The facility is handling 350,000 tonnes of residual waste, or post-recycling waste, per year, exporting 30MW of electricity to the grid - enough to power around 50,000 households.

172,000 tonnes of that waste is coming from five Councils that make up the Prosiect Gwyrdd partnership: Cardiff, Newport, Monmouthshire, Vale of Glamorgan and Caerphilly.

Information

PPE Required:

Viridor provides PPE (hard hat, gloves, high-vis vest, safety glasses), All visitors must ensure they bring sturdy footwear such as a walking boots or safety boots. All footwear must be closed and have good grip. Long sleeves must also be worn and skirts are not permitted on the site tour.

Delegates who do not show up on the day will be charged the full rate at the time of booking.

It may be necessary for reasons beyond the control of CIWM Cymru Wales to change the content and timing of the event. In the unlikely event of us having to cancel the event, CIWM Cymru Wales will make a full refund of the tickets but disclaim any further liability.
