New Defra resource minister to give keynote address at Resourcing the Future 2015 conference
19th June 2015
The new minister for resource and environmental management, Rory Stewart MP, will be giving the Opening Keynote Address at the Resourcing the Future 2015 conference.
"We are delighted that the Minister is expected to open the conference on the morning of the 24th June, and we look forward to hearing his early thoughts on the future of the waste and resource management sector," says CIWM chief executive Steve Lee. "This is an important time for our industry as it looks to fulfil its potential as a source of economic growth, jobs, resource and energy security, and as a key player in the circular economy agenda."
With Scotland's Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Food and Environment Richard Lochhead MSP giving the Keynote Address on day two, the event will provide delegates with an important opportunity to hear some of the latest government thinking on the issues and opportunities ahead for the industry across the UK.
And to add a further 'political' flavour to the event, the new Resourcing the Future 2015 conference 'app', launches this week, with features such as real time voting at the end of each conference session and the facility for delegates to submit questions to the session chairs for the Q&As. The app also gives delegates a wide variety of features and tools to tailor their conference experience, including instant access to speaker and exhibitor details, and live and interactive discussion with other attendees.
