Overview
NHS England has committed to being a Net Zero Carbon Healthcare provider by 2040. To this end, NHS England has developed a 10-year Clinical Waste Strategy for the NHS, which calls for organisations to have appropriately trained management resource.
Created specifically for NHS Waste Managers or equivalent roles and endorsed by NHS England's 10-year Clinical Waste Strategy, this programme is designed to meet the evolving demands of waste management in healthcare, covering safe and sustainable practices while addressing legislative requirements and emerging industry trends.
As the leading professional body for resources and waste management professionals, we recognise that the pace of change in our sector is significant and can lead to skills and knowledge gaps developing over time as policy, practice and technology evolves. To support continual learning and development, this programme includes one year of CIWM Affiliate membership and, on completion of the full programme of learning, delegates will automatically be upgraded to Technical membership, a professional grade which includes use of the post nominals TechMCIWM.
